미디어아트 시노그래피가 불러내는 크고 작은 장면들을 주로 만든다.  마음과 기술이 만나는 즐거운 지점을 상상하며, 특히 내셔널리즘과 글로벌리즘 사이 어딘가에 놓인 오늘의 세계가 느끼는 보편적 혼란과 어딘가로부터 떠나올 수밖에 없어 생긴 나의 중간자적, 이방인적 갈망을 병치해왔다. 최근에는 십수 년간 베니스의 방문을 통해 느꼈던 여행과 관광의 흥미로운 대치 구도에 주목하고, 타자를 향한 가벼운 우호와 즉흥적 연결, 우연성의 미덕에 대해서 다원예술과 미디어 작업 방식으로 연구하고 있다.

현재 다원콜렉티브 ‘MJMK’의 미디어아트 시노그라피 기획·연출을 맡고 있으며, CSC(Contemporary Sound Crew)의 상주 미디어아티스트로 활동 중이다.

I make scenes—sometimes small and intimate, sometimes expansive—through media art scenography. I’m interested in the point where emotion and technology meet, and I often place side by side the shared sense of disorientation in today’s world—somewhere between nationalism and globalism—with my own in-between, outsider-like longing shaped by the need to leave.

Lately, I’ve been focusing on the subtle tension between travel and tourism, something I’ve come to feel over more than a decade of visiting Venice. Through interdisciplinary and media-based work, I explore light affinities with others, spontaneous connections, and the role of chance.

I currently lead media art scenography planning and direction for the interdisciplinary collective “MJMK,” and work as a resident media artist with CSC (Contemporary Sound Crew).
